Awash National Park

Awash National Park is one of Ethiopia's oldest and most accessible conservation areas, spanning over 750 square kilometers of acacia woodland, open savannah grassland, and volcanic landscapes. At the heart of the park lies the dramatic Awash River Gorge and the roaring Awash Falls, where the river plunges into a deep canyon. The park is home to abundant wildlife, most notably large herds of the iconic Beisa oryx, Soemmerring's gazelles, hamadryas and olive baboons, kudus, and over 450 species of birds. Visitors can also explore the steaming Filwoha Hot Springs surrounded by palm trees and the impressive Fantale Volcano crater.
