✨ Savanna Wilderness & Endemic Birdwatching Haven
The Yabelo Wildlife Sanctuary is a sprawling protected landscape located in the Borana Zone of southern Ethiopia. Characterized by acacia-commiphora bushland and open savanna plains, the sanctuary is internationally recognized as a premier destination for birdwatching. It serves as the primary habitat for highly sought-after endemic avian species, most notably the Ethiopian bushcrow and the White-tailed swallow, which are found nowhere else on Earth. The sanctuary also protects significant populations of Hartebeest, Burchell's zebra, and various gazelles that traverse the arid, dramatic southern Ethiopian plains.
