✨ Memorial to Victims of the Derg Regime
Established in 2010 at the edge of Meskel Square, the Red Terror Martyrs' Memorial Museum honors the tens of thousands of victims who lost their lives during the violent Qey Shibr (Red Terror) campaign under Mengistu Haile Mariam’s Derg regime in the late 1970s. Through sobering displays of human remains, personal possessions, torture instruments, and survivor accounts, the museum serves as a poignant historical record and a powerful call of "Never Ever Again."
