Dorze Village

The Dorze Village is a culturally vibrant high-altitude community situated in the Gamo Highlands above Arba Minch. The Dorze people are celebrated for their remarkable architectural style, constructing massive, beehive-shaped bamboo houses that can stand up to 12 meters tall and are designed to last for decades. The village is also the hub of Ethiopia's finest traditional cotton weaving industry. Visitors can experience the unique lifestyle of the Dorze, witness the production of bread from the false banana plant (enset), and view intricate weaving techniques that have been passed down through generations.
